ABOUT<\/h4>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text css_animation=”slideInLeft”]The inaugural International Conference on National Urban Policy (ICNUP) was organized by UN-Habitat, the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements, and the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology and supported by the Republic of Korea\u2019s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and by Incheon Metropolitan City. It took place from 14 \u2013 15 December, 2015 with representatives from more than 5 international organizations attending the Conference, including OECD, UNESCAP, UNDP, Cities Alliance, and GGGI. Vice Ministers from Afghanistan, Ministry of Urban Development, Iran, Ministry of Road and Urban Development, and Korea, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport were in attendance.<\/em><\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”26269″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]

<\/div>[vc_column_text]The aim of the conference was to not only encourage discussion and debate but also to facilitate\u00a0and encourage the process of peer-to-peer learning through training and capacity building. This\u00a0process of learning would encourage the establishment and strengthening of partnerships among\u00a0actors with the ultimate hope of working towards defining policy solutions to urban problems.\u00a0These solutions would contribute to harnessing urbanization for the creation of competitive,\u00a0equitable, and sustainable cities. The conference, therefore considered broadly the use of\u00a0National Urban Policies as a tool to harness the opportunities of urbanization as well as considering\u00a0how smart and green principles can be incorporated into urban policy.[\/vc_column_text]
